The home for all downhill gravity road racing disciplines in Australasia,
as you probably all know, Phil is still in hospital in the Czech Republic. He's likely to be there for another week or two. His trip of a lifetime has certainly turned out to be one he'll remember for a long time.
We're getting some shirts printed up to raise some cash for him when he gets back home. Hopefully this will help towards his giant phone bill and some of his rehab once he is back in Australia.
The shirts are $30 each and thanks to Ado at Cre8ive Sk8, ALL the money from sales will be going to help Phil. Postage and Handling is $6.60
If you'd like to order one, email Stacey (staceystokes1 _at_ bigpond _dot_ com)
I've also got some wheels left over from europe that I'm happy to sell off and donate the funds to Phil.
I have 2 sets of 77mm 80a Centrax that I'll sell for $100 a set and 1 set of 70mm 83a lemon zigzags for $75
Let me know if anyone's interested
so what was the final tally for the shirts, etc?
Sorry for the delayed update and thanks for the prompt Ado ;)
A total of $1805.00 was raised for Phil.
We sold 46 shirts and received nearly $400 in donations which was a great effort from everyone.
A special thank you should go to the Austrians who all helped so much while Phil was still in hospital and who also bought shirts. I should maybe also thank Phil's travel agent back in Australia for all the overtime they put in dealing with his insurance company and organising his return flights at the last possible minute - whoever you are, thank you ;)
This fundraiser shows just how much the luge community is like family. This would not have been possible without the help and support of a few key individuals: - Cre8ive Sk8, Glenn from OneLiner, Grits for his design work and of course Stacey for volunteering to be the local point of information and getting this fundraiser started. Thanks again to everyone!
